Stand with Verizon workers! National Day of Action March 22

The New York New Jersey Regional Joint Board stands with the Communications Workers of America in their fight for a contract at Verizon. Join us on March 22 in a National Day of Action against Verizon.

Fight for Good Jobs! Stand up to Corporate Greed!

6-8pm
140 West St.
New York, NY 10007

Verizon has made tens of billions in profits and its top executives walked away with $283 million in the last four years. But when it comes to the 45,000 workers who made Verizon’s success possible, suddenly the company cries broke.

Verizon has sent thousands of American jobs overseas and wants to outsource even more jobs, gut pensions, charge current and retired employees thousands of dollars more for health benefits, and cut disability benefits for workers injured during their jobs.

On March 22, CWA and IBEW workers and thousands of others will be rallying around the country to support good jobs and the U.S. Call Center Worker and Consumer Protection Act.

Safer at Brooks Brothers Broadway

WE’RE SAFER ON BROADWAY!

Our union contract states that union members have a right to a safe work environment (Article XXI Safety and Health).  Recently, we had cause to raise serious concerns at the Broadway store.

Following an employee accident on a faulty ladder, the union representative requested the company immediately fix a slew of safety concerns.

Brooks Brothers failed to fix the situation for two weeks.

When the company didn’t make the necessary corrections, the union moved forward with a grievance.

Finally, we received confirmation that new equipment has been ordered and unsafe equipment will be replaced.  The union members at the Broadway store have corrected the problem.

Do you have concerns about your workplace?  Please make sure to raise them with your union steward.

KNOW YOUR CONTRACT.   PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS.  ORGANIZE.
